1000 girls, 1000 bouquets and 1000 kg flowers
APPRECIATION FOR RS. 1,000 CASH SCHEME
Grand Event at Everwin School, Chennai
A grand programme was organised today, Saturday, at Everwin Vidyashram, Kolathur, Chennai, in appreciation of the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam by the government of Tamil Nadu. The HR&C Minister Sekhar Babu presided over the event. About 1000 girls studying in higher classes participated.
An area of 10,000 sq. ft in the school playgrounds was strewn with roses. 1000 girls sat at the centre of it carrying bouquets of flowers in their hands, forming the number 1,000. The way they waved the bouquets in different angles was cynosure of all eyes. They also designed the words “56060 மகளிர் உரிமைத் தொகைத் திட்டம் முதல்வருக்கு 560” with 1,000 kg of marigold and roses.
A class 9 student C.M.Nandhini said, “I know many women who are beneficiaries of this project. They are extremely happy and praising the Taniil Nadu government and the Chief Minister. Hence we have organised this grand thanksgiving programme on behalf of those one crore women.”
Similarly, A.Shambhavi belonging to 8th class said, “Today, the entire Tamil Nadu is happy about this scheme. This will help a lot in upholding women’s rights. They need not rely on others for their simple expenses. We would like to personally meet the Chief Minister and thank him.”
The CEO of Everwin group of schools Mageswari, Senior Principal Purushothaman and many others are among those present.
